HTC EVO 4G Getting Android 2.2 Froyo Update Starting August 3rd
0There is some great news for the many EVO 4G owners out there today. According to the official Sprint press release that just came out, the Froyo update will be pushed out in waves to your devices starting August 3rd and continuing through the middle of the month. Sprint will allow any EVO to receive the update without waiting for a notification by initiating the update request manually (Settings > System updates).

Remote Wipe Software Now Available For Android 2.2 Froyo
0When Google first released the updated Froyo software, they added a feature called remote wipe, and this software is now available to the general public. Created by an xda developer forum member vesperaNovus, this software allows you to simply set some occasions where if applicable, your device will automatically wipe itself clean.

7If you happened to find yourself a little frightened by the original rooting method which we posted earlier this week for the Droid X then have no fear! A user at Alldroid has created a one click root and unroot method for the Droid X and user reviews appear to be very favorable. The developer has mentioned adding bloatware removal, app installation, backup, and many more features in the near future. Another thing to note, this is a windows-only root tool.

Dell Vlog Demoes Streak Running Android 2.1 Plus Pricing
0In a rather puzzling YouTube post, Dell did a quick demo of the 5-inch Streak running Android 2.1 (Eclair). According to Dell, the handset is supposed to get Android 2.2 sometime after launch so we are a bit confused to why 2.1 is even on the table. We suppose that it is a good sign that Dell’s Android team has 2.1 running on this new phone but Android Froyo is a must!
