Redsn0w 0.9.8b2 Released; Offers Tethered Jailbreak For iOS 5.0b3
0Users who were updating to iOS 5 beta 3 and jailbreaking with Redsn0w previously reported experiencing AppStore application issues where these apps just didn’t work. iOS developer and hacker ih8sn0w mentioned the following to clarify why this bug was occuring:
redsn0w seems to be having sandbox errors due to it using the old b1 kernel. I and many others have not seen any issues with sn0wbreeze related to AppStore apps. If you prefer to use redsn0w, I am sure @MuscleNerd is working on a fix.

Sn0wbreeze 2.8 b4 Released; Jailbreaks iOS 5 Beta 3 On Windows
0iH8sn0w has released Sn0wbreeze 2.8 b4 to jailbreak iOS 5 beta 3 on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. As always, Sn0wbreeze is a Windows jailbreak tool.
iH8sn0w (@iH8sn0w) recently tweeted that he has updated Sn0wbreeze 2.8 to support iOS 5 beta 3. His message said the following:

Nintendo Releasing Their First iOS App In Japan This Summer
0In the days before the release of the iPhone, Nintendo was the undisputed king of handheld gaming. Currently, Nintendo sees Apple as one of their biggest rivals in the handheld gaming industry. The gaming apps found on iOS devices just caught the interest of gamers and non-gamers alike hurting Nintendo’s sales. It is a bit surprising to see that Nintendo is set to release their first official iOS app in Japan called Pokemon Say Tap? BW. Although the game probably won’t ever be released outside of Japan, it does mark a change in Nintendo’s attitude toward smartphone gaming.

Swype Currently Being Ported To iOS By Jailbreak Developer
0One of the features that has previously not been implemented in iOS devices was the popular alternative to the simple tap to type. With its patented sliding and recognition technology, swiping your finger through the letters of the word you are spelling out will spell out the word you desire. According tot he Swype website, the software has been deployed to over 26 million phones in 50+ countries. The entire list comprises of Android and Windows OS phones. Swype has promised beta testing for iOS however, restrictions by Apple have made this very difficult.

Sn0wbreeze 2.8 b3 Released; Jailbreaks iOS 5 Beta 2 On Windows
0iH8sn0w has released Sn0wbreeze 2.8 b3 to jailbreak iOS 5 beta 2 on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. As always, Sn0wbreeze is a Windows jailbreak tool.
For those of you interested in jailbreaking the new version, MuscleNerd confirmed via Twitter that the new beta 2 is jailbreakable using the latest version of RedSn0w. Users will need to point Redsn0w to iOS 5 beta 1 however.

JailbreakMe 3.0 Delayed AGAIN; No ETA Announced….
0JailbreakMe 3.0, which was mentioned to be released either Wednesday or Sunday (June 22 or June 26) by Comex is confirmed to be delayed. As of right now there is currently no known ETA as Comex needs to iron out the unionfs before releasing the jailbreak tool to the public. The jailbreak is on the horizon and will be released once it is ready for public release but until then, we have no choice but to wait patiently.

JailbreakMe 3.0 Confirmed; Includes Untethered Jailbreak For iPad 2
0In a previous article, @paulpols and @veeence, tweeted about @comex’s self-created deadline of “before wednesday” for the release of JailbreakMe 3.0. The userland jailbreak is set to support jailbreaking all devices from iPhone3GS through iPad2, iOS 4.2.1 to 4.3.3 (all untethered too). The biggest news here would be the jailbreak for the iPad 2, which has not been released due to it having the A5 chip as opposed to the A4 chip found in other current iOS devices.

ChevronWP7 Labs Offers Jailbreak Apps For Windows Phone 7 Officially
0Jailbreaking and jailbreak apps are officially coming to Microsoft Windows Phone 7 thanks to ChevronWP7 Labs. We already know Microsoft has a different approach to dealing with jailbreakers compared to Apple and Sony, which is a pretty interesting move by the company.
