Microsoft Offering Free XBox 360 To Students With A Purchase Of Win 7 PC

Microsoft is giving students a reason to turn their backs on the Mac’s by announcing a new offer to help promote PC’s running Windows 7 operating system. Starting May 22, Microsoft is offering a free XBox 360 (with 4GB of storage) to folks who pay $699 or more for a Windows 7 PC – note they do not say “laptop,” which suggests that makers like HP and Dell are trying to boost their waning, post-PC sales.

Sony Charging for PSN Services?

One of the many differences behind the Playstation Network is that unlike its competitor (Microsoft’s Xbox), Sony does not charge for it’s online service. PSN users might be in for a change though as supposedly, charging for PSN service is something Sony is looking into doing. Back in November of 2009, Sony had a paid subscription plan in the works for PSN. Peter Dille (head of PSN) mentioned the following in an interview with IGN:
