Italian Ad Leaks Possible Xbox 360 Slim
2Two of the many rumored devices we have been looking forward to that were planned to be announced at E3 2010 this year were from Microsoft. Both of which have unfortunately been leaked early. First was the re-naming of Microsoft’s ongoing Project Natal to Kinect. It seems that now the Xbox 360 Slim which was rumored to release earlier this year was leaked as well. An Italian site named Console Tribe ran an ad that released images of a differently designed and never seen before console that was definitely an Xbox 360. The ad also mentions how the model is compatible with “Kinect” and also More >
Microsoft’s Project Natal Official Name Leaked: “Microsoft Kinect”
2Earlier today, USA Today leaked the name of Microsoft’s controller-free motion control set up. Prevously known as Project Natal, the official name will be Kinect. Microsoft was apparently planning on revealing the details tonight at a pre-E3 event, but the leak was released before they had the chance to announce it themselves. There still isn’t any word on pricing or a release date, but it is expected to be announced at the E3 2010 event this upcoming week. The writeup seems to have been taken down from USA Today so we hope they didn’t get in any trouble, but their writeup previously More >
Microsoft Preview For Project Natal – Controller-Free Xbox 360 Gaming
1Microsoft plans to reveal a new type of videogames this week, games that don’t require people to understand and utilize a complex controller with several buttons. Following the massive success of Nintendo’s Wii, Microsoft is introducing a technology, code-named Project Natal, that ditches the use of a controller altogether. The games will rely on a device the size of a stapler threat perches on top of a living room TV to recognize faces, obey voice commands, and track body movements. It won’t be necessary to mash buttons in different sequences to experience success in the game, no more More >
Nintendo’s Wii Now AHA Approved
0As everyone already probably knows, Nintendo and the American Heart Association would be making an announcement today and everyone speculated it would have something to do with Nintendo’s forthcoming Vitality Sensor. As it turns out, however, its something altogether even more surprising than expected. The AHA has announced that it will be putting its stamp of approval on the Wii itself (as well as Wii Fit Plus and Wii Sports Resort). That’s obviously a first for any videogame console, and fairly unprecedented for the AHA. As ABC News points out, the association hasn’t seen fit to put its More >
PS3 Firmware 3.21 Firmware Bypass
0Let’s face it. Sony has backed you up in a corner. As of right now, you can’t officially play the Playstation 3 online without downloading the new PS3 3.21 firmware update, but if you download, your precious “Other OS” is forfeit, on top of which, there might also be a whole slue of other side effects. You could wait it out, hoping that Geohot comes through with a workaround. If you live in europe, you can even sue Sony for a refund. Or, if you aren’t terribly worried about the security of your PSN account and personal information, you could instead just input ten digits into your PS3 and More >
Xbox 360 Slim Possibly In The Works
1Earlier, a user on the Chinese message board A9VG leaked images of what seems to be a significantly downsized motherboard for Microsoft’s next hardware revision, as well as the CPU/GPU combination chip. Microsoft could be following Sony’s lead by redesigning the Xbox 360 much like Sony redesigned their Playstation 3 into a PS3 Slim which sold more than a million systems in less than three weeks.
The first image in the thread shows the entire motherboard, which seems to be more compact and closer to a square than the system’s current configuration.
The second image shows exactly what’s More >
