iH8sn0w has released Sn0wbreeze 2.8 b1 to  jailbreak iOS 5 beta 1 on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. As always, Sn0wbreeze is a Windows jailbreak tool.

Those who are unaware, Sn0wbreeze is Windows based tool that jailbreaks stock IPSW file, adds customizations like boot, adds pre-installed Cydia sources or packages and gives you a custom pre-jailbroken IPSW. You can then restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with this custom IPSW in iTunes.

The iPad 2 was released more than three months ago and the people who have purchased an iPad 2 and wait to jailbreak it, haven’t been able to satisfy their desire since no iPad 2 jailbreak has been released.

The new Apple A5 processor-based architecture in the iPad 2 is proving to be a difficult issue to overcome. The Limera1n exploit, which worked previously on A4-based iOS devices like the iPod Touch 4G and iPhone 4, is hardware-based and since the iPad 2 is A5-based, the exploit does not work on it. This leaves the community to find an all new exploit for the device.

Several people are asking about the iOS 5 jailbreak and well there is good news as we reported before; MuscleNerd has jailbroken the OS with iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 1, 3rd and 4th gen iPod Touch compatibility. It’s already jailbroken using the Limera1n exploit and you have to remember that it is a tethered jailbreak. Apple recently announced iOS 5 at the WWDC, just a few days out and the OS has already been jailbroken, now a developer named Mert Erdir has found a vulnerability which allows you to upgrade to iOS 5 without having any developer account.

He has also shared the method how you can achieve this task. According to the source:

  2. Connect your device with your computer and click on “Check for update” using OPTION for Mac and SHIFT for PC.

MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev Team has recently posted pictures on his twitter account, confirming the jailbreak works fine on iOS 5, but is currently limited to a tethered boot only, which means you will have to connect it to your computer on every reboot. According to his initial testing, Cydia appears to be working just fine on his 4th generation iPod Touch. Sony Pictures Website Compromised: 1 Million Accounts Hacked

Several hackers from a group called LulzSec announced recently that they had breached SonyPictures.com, the website belonging to Sony-owned studio Sony Pictures. The group claims to have compromised personal information belonging to over 1 million users. Amongst the data was user names, passwords, home addresses, dates of birth, and other sensitive data. They also claim they have accessed 75,000 “music codes” and 3.5 million “music coupons.”

Popular iPhone hacker, iH8sn0w recently released iFaith, originally codenamed Project iF, after his first live demo of the application. A previous announcement  gave information on where to watch for the release of iFaith but it was unknown about what the project consisted of and what its true name was.
