Untethered Jailbreak for iOS 4.2.1 delayed yet again!

A recent tweet from @comex of the iPhone Dev team suggests that he may wait for the release of the Verizon iPhone 4 before releasing his untethered jailbreak exploit. Now, the entire iPhone community has to wait till Verizon iPhone 4 hits the shelves on February 10th, 2011. The statement arrived after Verizon iPhone 4 was announced and Apple seeded iOS 4.3 beta.

Comex Not Waiting For iOS 4.3, Untethered iOS 4.2.1 Jailbreak Coming Shortly

An Italian site contacted Comex today asking him whether he plans ot wait for Verizon iPhone 4 to launch and the next iOS release (which is iOS 4.3 / 4.2.5) before releasing is new untethered jailbreak. Comex swiftly responded that one month is too long a wait to keep the much anticipated untethered jailbreak from releasing.

So, if Apple releases iOS 4.2.5 on 10 February, you’ll preserver your new tool and exploits for that firmware? Maybe this will be a good move. Dev Team and Chronic Dev are releasing their tools for iOS 4.2.1, your can be saved for the future too.

Redsn0w 0.9.7b6 Released; Resolves Sykpe Issue

iPhone dev team has released the sixth beta of Redsn0w 0.9.7 untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak which is now available for download, and will jailbreak the iPad, iPhone 4, and iPod Touch 4G running iOS 4.2.1. As usual this beta version is not for Windows or general users, it is strictly for testing purpose only. Redsn0w 0.9.7b6 fixes the Skype issue. The iPhone Dev Team has recently released Redsn0w 0.9.7b5 which is now available for download, and will jailbreak the iPad, iPhone 4, and iPod Touch 4G running iOS 4.2.1.
