JailbreakMe 3.0 Delayed AGAIN; No ETA Announced….

JailbreakMe 3.0, which was mentioned to be released either Wednesday or Sunday (June 22 or June 26) by Comex is confirmed to be delayed. As of right now there is currently no known ETA as Comex needs to iron out the unionfs before releasing the jailbreak tool to the public. The jailbreak is on the horizon and will be released once it is ready for public release but until then, we have no choice but to wait patiently.

The delay was confirmed recently by another tweet made by @veeence, where he said the following:

In a  previous article, @paulpols and @veeence, tweeted about @comex’s self-created deadline of “before wednesday” for the release of JailbreakMe 3.0. The userland jailbreak is set to support jailbreaking all devices from iPhone3GS through iPad2, iOS 4.2.1 to 4.3.3 (all untethered too). The biggest news here would be the jailbreak for the iPad 2, which has not been released due to it having the A5 chip as opposed to the A4 chip found in other current iOS devices.

iOS 5b1 Expected To Expire On August 4th

Some important news for folks running iOS 5 beta 1, the same goes for people using the firmware that don’t have an Apple developer’s account. The jailbreak developer, iH8Sn0w via a tweet warned everyone that the iOS 5b1 has an expiration date. Once expired, the firmware will lock you out of your device until its downgraded or until iOS 5 is officially launched. He mentioned the following in his tweet:

First Set of Third Party Widgets Released For iOS 5

With iOS 5 having the ability to utilize widgets, there has been lots of buzz as to whether developers will be able to create custom widgets and market them for the iOS software. Whether or not Apple is restricting this capability from the stock iOS, the jailbreak community has already managed to step it up a notch. Apple recently announced iOS 5 at the WWDC, just a few days out and the OS has already been jailbroken, now a developer named Mert Erdir has found a vulnerability which allows you to upgrade to iOS 5 without having any developer account.

iOS 5 Jailbroken Month’s Before It’s Final Release

MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev Team has recently posted pictures on his twitter account, confirming the jailbreak works fine on iOS 5, but is currently limited to a tethered boot only, which means you will have to connect it to your computer on every reboot.
