New Apple Patent Reveals Convertible Laptop / Tablet

Have you been hearing rumors over the past few years about Apple making a laptop/tablet combo for everyone? It seems at least part of the rumor has gone and gotten itself a patent for itself. Calling it a “convertible MacBook-to-iPad like device,” Patently Apple is reporting that the patent could be for a MacBook type device that would convert to something like an iPad in horizontal mode. As a laptop the screen would be propped open at an angle with a virtual keyboard below it. As a tablet, the screen would slide down on top of the keyboard, enabling Multi-Touch control directly on the screen itself.

AT&T Introduces International Data Plans For Laptops And Netbooks

AT&T recently announced new Pay-As-You-Go international data packages for netbook and laptop users. The new, 30-day plans start at 20MB for $24.99 and go all the way up to 200MB for $199.99. “Data sessions may be purchased using a credit card of a debit card. Customers can also bill the charges to their wireless bill provided the postpaid wireless account has been active more than 90 days and has no past due charges,” according to the press release. The company will also be allowing users to schedule when the 30-day pass begins to take effect. The four announced plans are as follows:

AMD Prioritizes Netbooks – Speculating Tablet Market

Processor vendor AMD isn’t reall concerned powering the next iPad or a would-be competitor, according to DigiTimes. The company is still waiting to see if the tablet market even takes off. The firm will continue to work on desktop PC products and graphics cards, but as of right now is currently focused on graphically potent ultraportables. According to what was said in the publication, they aren’t intersted in following in competitor Intel’s smartphone footsteps either. AT&T To Offer Free Wi-Fi To Ease Network Congestion

It’s no secret that AT&T’s coverage in NYC has been called out as being unreliable in the past. Now the company is apparently doing something about it with the launch of a pilot program that will bring free Wi-Fi to AT&T wireless and broadband customers. According to AT&T, users of smartphones, laptops, iPad’s and other Wi-Fi enabled devices will enjoy free Wi-Fi access via the company’s “hotzone” on the north side of Times Square on 7th Avenue between 45th and 47th streets.

Vietnam seems to be turning into the place for Apple prototype leaks. Earlier this week, Vietnamese blog Tinhte posted up images of a 4th generation iPhone prototype and today, the same blog is showing off what they claim is the next generation 13’’ MacBook. Lenovo Adds Sprint 4G Support To ThinkPad Series

Lenovo an exceptional company, which is well Know for its efficiency and cutting edge designs in computer manufacturing, has joined forces with the Wireless Company Sprint.
