iPhone Dev Team Releases Untethered PwnageTool 4.3.2
2The popular iDevice jailbreaking utility, PwnageTool, was recently updated to version 4.3.2, which includes the 4.3.2 untether from @i0n1c, just like Redsn0w. The 4.3.2 untether works on all devices that actually support 4.3.2 with the exception of the iPad 2. If you are one of the lucky users who ended up receiving a stock device on 4.3.2, or “accidentally” updated, then today is your lucky day. The utility is more helpful of course towards those seeking to unlock their iPhones.
PwnageTool is your go-to app for creating custom firmware bundles that leave your baseband untouched to help More >

Apple Rumored To Release New iMacs With Intel Sandy Bridge Processors and Thunderbolt In 4 to 6 Weeks
0One of the many things about Apple is that they like to stick to release cycles, and according to these release cycles, we have a hunch that the iMac is getting ready for an update. According to CNET’s Brian Tong, this update could be sooner rather than later.
A post over at MacRumors brings news of some tweeted that were mentioned by the CNET reporter claiming that his sources are informing him that an iMac refresh is near with Intel Sandy Bridge architecture and Thunderbolt to be included. The following was mentioned:

OS X 10.7 Lion Server Replaces Samba With Windows Networking Tools
1The upcoming release of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Server will remove the formerly bundled open source Samba software and replace it with Apple’s own tools for Windows file sharing and network directory services. The Samba team has moved active development of the project to the more strict GPLv3 license, which prevents Apple from realistically using the software commercially. Due to the licensing restrictions that Apple is encountering, the company has decided to remove Samba, the mechanism OS X uses to connect to Windows file and network directory services, from Mac OS X Lion. Intel’s Turbo Boost Problems Found In New MacBook Pros
0With the release of the new Sandy Bridge equipped MacBook Pros, users have been expecting clockspeeds of up to 3.4 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost technology. However, in some cases, the 13” models with Core i7-2620M processors have been reported to stall out at 2.7 GHz when using Windows. The culprit may be a high core temperature, which is not being seen when the 14” is running Mac OS X or at all in the larger models. Other tests show the 13” performing as advertised. So what exactly is going on here?

Apple Releases iTunes 10.2.1, Offers Java Updates For OS X
1Apple has released an update to iTunes, 10.2.1 which is less than one week after iTunes 10.2. iTunes 10.2 enabled support for iOS 4.3 syncing, which we presume is simply a “bug fix update“.
In addition to the iTunes upgrade, Apple has released updates to Java for Mac OS X for both 10.5 Leopard and 10.6 Snow Leopard. The updates are related to security and can be found in the software update application. The update description is exactly the same as for iTunes 10.2, so it is unclear what has been changed since last week’s release at this time. Changes are presumably minor, however, More >
Secret Firmware Update Offers 8GB RAM Config. On ’08 MacBooks
0Folks over at OWC have discovered that a ‘secret’ firmware update has enabled access to 8GB of RAM on late ’08 MacBooks.
In late 2009, an EFI Firmware Update was released to address the buzzing noises coming from the optical drive. However, it seems that somewhere along the line, Apple changed this update without notating it anywhere.
Whether any other elements were affected by this change is undetermined, but it did change memory addressing; with the later version of the update installed, you could address a full 8GB in Snow Leopard. Unfortunately, Software Update doesn’t show this More >
Apple Boasts 1.1 Million MacBook Air Sales In Fourth Quarter of 2010
0The MacBook Air was and still is a huge hit for Apple – with an estimated 1.1 million 11-inch and 13-inch models sold during the fourth quarter of last year. The MacBook Air launch has been the most successful Mac launch for Apple to date. It is quite an achievement considering just how successful the entire MacBook line has been for Apple over the years.
When talking about sales, Apple rarely breaks the information down with figures by model type. The company prefers to keep their competitors in the dark. During the fourth quarter of last year, Apple made $3.7 billion on notebooks alone More >
