Apple’s Mac App Store Faces Piracy
0It seems to be problem after problem after the opening of Apple’s Mac App Store as the company continues onwards toward what seems to be it’s plan to treat desktop software like iOS apps. After the installation issues that were widely reported yesterday, it now looks like poor software validation is opening the door to piracy. Apple has guidelines for validating Mac App Store receipts, but it turns out that some apps don’t entirely follow these guidelines so some paid apps such as Angry Birds, can be bootlegged with a receipt from a free download.

Apple’s Mac App Store Opens With More Than 1,000 Apps
0Apple today has finally opened up the Mac App Store for business, with over a thousand apps for launch. The Mac App Store requires the Max OS X 10.6.6 software update for Snow Leopard which can be downloaded from here. There aren’t any signs of iWork ’11 just yet but iLife ’11, which was released previously in October is available on the Mac App Store.

WP7 Connector Updated For Mac – Comes With Slew Of New Features
0Users who use the Windows Phone 7 connector will notice an update when they open it up today. The update is only clocking in at 7.6MB but Microsoft is labeling it as a “critical” one nonetheless. Some of the updates that users will find are the ability to now sync purchased items from the phone to the computer as well as a new experience for setting up a new device. Apple’s Mac App Store Set To Launch January 6th, 2011
0Apple today announced that the Mac App Store will open for business on Thursday, January 6th, 2011, the new service announced back in October offers developers a 70-30 split in revenues for applications sold and looks to mimic the functionality of iOS-based App Store on the desktop.
Apple posted guidelines for the Mac App Store and started accepting submissions from the developer last month.

Redesigned MacBook Pro And iMac Rumored For First Half Of 2011
0Digitimes claims that in addition to a new iPad revision, Apple is also planning on upgrading both the MacBook Pro and iMac in the first half of 2011.
According to a report by Digitimes, Apple is planning on upgrading its current line of MacBook Pros and the iMacs in the first half of 2011. This would include at least four upgraded versions of both the iMac and the MacBook Pro.
