Sony has just released PS3 firmware 3.60 which is now available for download via PlayStation 3 console’s software update. The latest firmware update brings the ability to boot your game saves into the cloud storage letting you access them from any PS3 console, anywhere in the world. The feature is however limited to PlayStation Plus subscribers which costs $50 a year. As an added plus, the new update lets you set the time you want your PS3 to wait before it shuts down your DualShock and Sixaxis wireless controllers.
The new online storage feature allows gamers to store up to 150MB of game save data and a maximum of 1000 data files per PSN account. Users [...]

Currently, there is no working jailbreak solution for PS3 firmware 3.56, though there have been tools like 3.56 firmware spoofer which help prevent accidental upgrade from a jailbroken 3.55 firmware but still don’t allow PSN access.
According to PSX-Scene it seems that hacker Mathieu Hervais has already found an exploitable bug for bootloader and firmware version 3.56. The hacker tweeted that he a has discovered a bug that allows exploiting metldr, the bootloader and firmware version 3.56.
However, the developer has refused to release the exploit ever to the public, due to Sony’s ongoing crackdown against PS3 hackers filing lawsuits against them. This clearly means Sony has succeeded in its mission of silencing the hackers forcing [...]

A federal Magistrate Judge Joseph C. Spero has awarded Sony a subpoena allowing them to obtain the IP addresses of everyone who visited the personal website of Geohot for the past 26 months. In addition to this, the judge also granted Sony’s request for subpoenas on YouTube Channel, Google, Twitter, and another service for information relating to accounts held by George Hotz. The move came in as a part of ongoing legal battle between Sony and Geohot.
According to the report, the subpoenas allow Sony to obtain information about people, by tracing the IP address of everyone who has visited www.geohot.com since January 2009 and the account names of anyone [...]

Sony is now demanding that they be able to clone multiple copies (at least two full images) of Geohot’s hard drives in an ongoing legal battle over the jailbreak of the PS3. According to PSX-Scene, the original court order called for the drive(s) to be delivered to a third party “for the purpose of isolating, segregating and/or removing the information on those devices related to Defendant Hotz’s circumvention of the TPMs in the PS3 system.”
The issue here is that the original paperwork only gives the third-party, TIG, the right to take possession of the drives “for the purpose of isolating, segregating and/or removing the information on those devices related to Defendant Hotz’s circumvention of the [...]

Folks over at AndroidSpin reported that “berserker_devel” an XDA-Developer member has managed to find a way to turn your Android device into a wireless mouse for your PlayStation 3. The app is called BlueputDroid, and will only work on a rooted device to act as a keyboard or mouse for both PC and PS3.
Currently in beta form, BlueputDroid is available for download on AppBrain should you wish to give the mousey goodness a whirl.

After hacking Playstation 3 SKU, Geohot has landed in some hot water, legally but that isn’t stopping the restless hacker from venturing deeper into Sony’s product line. In a recent interview in an American TV show “The Alyona”, he made clear that he is not afraid of “Sony” and voiced his intention to root upcoming Sony’s Ericsson Xperia Play & Apple’s iPhone 5. Check out the video interview below:
Infamous hacker Geohot was sued after he released PS3 keys to public (despite the fact that his hack does not support pirated software). He then published a short note to Sony on his blog showing dismay and warned that Sony might not get the [...]

Recently we have gotten reports from several different sources that Sony is developing a ‘hack-proof’ PlayStation 3 to tackle piracy and the new PS3 might replace all currently existing PS3 SKUs very soon.
With all the recent price drops circulating Sony’s PlayStation 3 console and even reports suggesting the company may even introduce an official price drop, you can’t help wonder why Sony are really doing this for. If they really wanted to drop the price of their machine the best opportunity would have been at E3 last year. So, there must be a motive behind the recent price drops from major retailers – Sony is reportedly looking into a [...]

PS3 is the main target of hacker from couple of weeks. It seems that hackers didn’t take the Sony’s actions against Geohot seriously because another hack has come on scene by which you can stop your PS3 to get updated on any next firmware automatically. Rebug team just released a spoofer v3.56 for PS3 which will do the above said task.
3.56 Version Spoofer does exactly what it says and can restore back to 3.55 if needed. It was never intended to allow PSN access but to stop the system from updating to 3.56(I made it shortly after KaKaRoToKS had his false alarm).
Once the PS3 is spoofed it will stay spoofed until [...]

I wish I had an iPhone unlock, the simple BB holes appear closed (my fuzzer comes up blank). In fact, I’m still using my 3GS cause I don’t have one :-/Via Geohot Blog
This recent development from Geohot bring the long standing rumor about new iPhone unlock tool Rubysn0w to an end. Geohot is already busy in fighting legal battle’s with Sony for hacking the PlayStation 3 game console, so he [...]
