Samsung on Friday unveiled the latest addition to the Galaxy tablet family, the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus.

The new slate is an update to the tablet that started it all for Samsung, and it features a 7-inch 1,024 x 600-pixel display, a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, dual cameras, embedded HSPA+ and Android 3.2 Honeycomb.

Samsung Agrees To Pay Microsoft Royalties On Android Sales

Microsoft announced on Wednesday that the company has signed a cross-licensing agreement with Samsung. As a result of the agreement, Microsoft will be receiving royalties from Samsung for its Android-powered smartphones and tablets. Additionally, Microsoft mentioned that the two firms will continue to cooperate on the Windows Phone operating system.

Rumors Suggest Apple Seeks Partnership With Samsung

After a recent visit to Korea by Tim Cook (Apple’s current CEO), there are notions being raised of a cooperation between Apple and Samsung. Industry sources are reporting that Cook discussed incorporating Samsung’s AMOLED (Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode) display for Apple’s tablet PCs while visiting South Korea. Apple’s current lineup (the iPad 1 and the iPad 2) have liquid crystal displays. The current supplier for the iPad displays is LG Display.

Apple has topped J.D Power’s smartphone customer satisfaction survey for the fifth time running. The iPhone recently earned a score of 795 out of a possible 1,000 points. Competitors such as Motorola and HTC followed Apple with scores of 763 and 762, respectively. J.D Power weighs the total result from the various categories:

The iPad 2 was only announced two days ago, but already it has the competition rethinking their devices. Samsung says it will have to make improvements to its upcoming tablets after seeing Apple unveil the iPad 2 this week, according to yonhapnews.

Official Android 2.3.2 Gingerbread Leaked For Samsung Galaxy S; Now Available To Download

Android 2.3.2 Gingerbread has been leaked for the Samsung Galaxy S i9000. The build number of the firmware is I9000XWJV1. Along with a link to the ROM and its original over at a Polish Android forum, the original poster Lorbas is claiming they have confirmation that this leak is the official working build of Gingerbread that will eventually grace the Galaxy S line of phone.

It also looks like Samsung is now using the ext4 file system, which should bring performance boosts much like the ones on the Nexus S.
