Unlock Your Windows Phone 7 With ChevronWP7 Labs

1

The enthusiast developers at ChevronWP7 have released their inexpensive Windows Phone unlocking tool, ChevronWP7 Labs. This tool provides users with a way to inexpensively “developer unlock” their device, providing them with two key capabilities:

  • Inexpensively run self-created apps on a physical device — Normally, budding developers would need to pay for Microsoft’s expensive ($99 per year) developer program, App Hub for Windows Phone 7, to run self-made apps on a physical device. (Enthusiast developers can run self-made apps for free in an emulator.) But ChevronWP7 Labs provides More >

The Reason Why The iPhone 4 Siri Port Hasn’t Been Released

0

It seems to be one of the hottest topics being talked about right now but nobody seems to know the real answer to one of the most important questions: Where exactly is the hack that will get Siri working on an iPhone 4?

Thanks to Steve Troughton-Smith and Grant Paul, we have seen videos of it working but the pair has been reluctant to make the hack available, at least the non-paying public. In a recent blog post, @chpwn has cleared things up by explaining why the port hasn’t been made publicly available, and as we suspected, it all comes down to copyright.

As of right now, in order More >

Apple Confirms Over 1 Million iPhone 4S Pre-Orders

0

Apple has recently confirmed that the company has sold over one million iPhone 4S devices in pre-orders. This officially makes the iPhone 4S the most successful iPhone ever. The previous record was from last year’s iPhone 4 launch which totaled over 600,000 in one day. Despite disappointment after Apple’s announcement last week of the company’s next-generation iPhone, Apple has seemed to come out on top. This year, Apple has a large amount of global carrier partners for the launch, including Verizon AND Sprint in the United States. It still doesn’t take away from how impressive the numbers More >

Nintendo Releasing Their First iOS App In Japan This Summer

0

In the days before the release of the iPhone, Nintendo was the undisputed king of handheld gaming. Currently, Nintendo sees Apple as one of their biggest rivals in the handheld gaming industry. The gaming apps found on iOS devices just caught the interest of gamers and non-gamers alike hurting Nintendo’s sales. It is a bit surprising to see that Nintendo is set to release their first official iOS app in Japan called Pokemon Say Tap? BW. Although the game probably won’t ever be released outside of Japan, it does mark a change in Nintendo’s attitude toward smartphone gaming.

Apple Considering Sprint As iPhone 5 Reseller Along With AT&T and Verizon

0

Citadel Securities analyst Shing Yin estimates that the next-gen iPhone will call Sprint home before the end of 2011. From a business standpoint, it just makes sense to do. With AT&T and Verizon sharing the carrier stage in the U.S, Apple is likely interested in expanding to the nation’s third-largest wireless provider. Sprint, much like Verizon runs on a CDMA-network, which can easily be added to Apple’s domestic carrier list – a move that would benefit all parties (except for AT&T and Verizon). “We believe Sprint could capture more than its fair share of iPhone sales,” Yin writes, More >

Nokia Releases It’s New Smartphone: The Nokia N9

0

Earlier this week, Nokia unveiled its latest smartphone, the Nokia N9. The N9 is the struggling company’s first smartphone which runs the open sourced MeeGo operating system, a joint collaboration between Nokia’s Maemo project and Intel’s Moblin software. It is also the company’s first smartphone in at least three years, which is why many people have generally been excited to hear about it and get their hands on it.

Predictably, the Nokia N9 was met with a disenchanted press upon its release. Although Nokia is still a dominant mobile manufacturer, the company has struggled to compete in the More >
