If you don’t already have an iPhone 4S, your wait will still apparently be long according to The Wall Street Journal. Anxious Verizon Wireless customers are reporting more than three weeks for their purchase to arrive. AT&T customers are waiting an average of 21 days as well, and Sprint customers have roughly a two week time period. This new report continues to prove previous claims of Apple experiencing a demand which was slower than expected for their iPhone 4S wrong. Apple stock previously went down due to these claims despite the initial success of the device.

According to the WSJ, the initial sales of the iPhone 4S were quite opposite of the rumors, calling them “unexpectedly strong” in the first month. According to AT&T president of emerging devices, Glenn Lurie, “We are having some supply issues in the sense that demand’s huge. We have had just record-breaking sales on it.” Verizon seemed to make comments similar to this, where a spokeswoman mentioned that the demand “continues to build” for the iPhone 4S. The Big Red also mentioned that it is working with Apple to increase inventory.

Apple’s own retail stores are experiencing a similar story as they are seeing daily stock-outs of their iPhone 4S. Furthermore, the Cupertino giant is in the midst of the fastest worldwide roll-out ever, with a very strong international demand as well. Apple continues to stay on its record setting pace with the iPhone 4S after selling more than 4 million iPhones in its first weekend. That specific weekend alone doubled the company’s previous record of 1.7 million iPhone 4 units in the summer of 2010.

Tim Cook previously mentioned in the company’s quarterly earnings conference call in October how he was confident that a new record for the iPhone 4S will be set in the current holiday quarter. Currently the previous record came in the company’s June quarter of this year, when Apple moved a total of 20.34 million iPhones.

With the holiday season around the corner, will you be getting an iPhone 4S for yourself or someone you know? Do you already have an iPhone 4S? Share any thoughts and comments below!

Apple has recently confirmed that the company has sold over one million iPhone 4S devices in pre-orders. This officially makes the iPhone 4S the most successful iPhone ever. The previous record was from last year’s iPhone 4 launch which totaled over 600,000 in one day. Despite disappointment after Apple’s announcement last week of the company’s next-generation iPhone, Apple has seemed to come out on top. This year, Apple has a large amount of global carrier partners for the launch, including Verizon AND Sprint in the United States. It still doesn’t take away from how impressive the numbers are though.

You can read Apple’s official press release regarding the subject below:

iPhone 4S Pre-Orders Top One Million in First 24 Hours

Verizon Wireless is planning on introducing a brand new $50 monthly prepaid this weak in an effort to edge in on MetroPCS and Sprint-owned Boost and Virgin Mobile. The $50 monthly prepaid is said to include unlimited text, talk, and web according to the Wall Street Journal. The new plan, which fair launched back in April as “Unleashed” in limited markets, will be available to customers in Verizon stores, Walmart, Target, and Best Buy. As of right now, the new plan is much cheaper than Verizon’s current unlimited talk and text prepaid option, which currently costs $94.99 per month.

“This is a very competitive market, and we want to make sure we have a price portfolio to fit a greater number of customers,” Verizon Wireless spokeswoman Brenda Raney said. “In these times there are some people who would prefer living on a prepaid plan.”

As of right now, Verizon’s competitors charge the following: AT&T’s GoPhone service offers the same unlimited option and costs $50 per month. Virgin Mobile’s service costs $55 per month although they are cheaper options for customers who want fewer minutes. MetroPCS offers a nationwide unlimited plan for $45 per month but customers can also opt for a more expensive 4G prepaid package. Boost Mobile’s service costs $50 per month but can drop as low as $35 per month as part of its “monthly shrinkage” perk for making on-time payments.

Are you or is anyone you know considering this deal from Verizon? If so, leave us a comment below and let us know!

Citadel Securities analyst Shing Yin estimates that the next-gen iPhone will call Sprint home before the end of 2011. From a business standpoint, it just makes sense to do. With AT&T and Verizon sharing the carrier stage in the U.S, Apple is likely interested in expanding to the nation’s third-largest wireless provider. Sprint, much like Verizon runs on a CDMA-network, which can easily be added to Apple’s domestic carrier list – a move that would benefit all parties (except for AT&T and Verizon). “We believe Sprint could capture more than its fair share of iPhone sales,” Yin writes, “especially if it gets the new model at the same time as AT&T and Verizon.”

The analyst believes the iPhone carrier expansion to Sprint is “increasingly likely,” especially considering that with the inauguration of Verizon Communications tiered pricing for data starting July 7th. “Sprint will be the sole remaining national carrier with an unlimited data plan offering, something desirable to Apple.”

Yin speculates that a Sprint iPhone “could be relatively stronger seller than the Verizon iPhone. With lower prices on the on plans, a Sprint iPhone could offer an attractive proposition for more price-conscious users (a demographic that we think is increasingly important to Apple, following the rise of Android),” a report from Barron’s noted.

With so many iPhone users on AT&T and Verizon, we personally are curious to see how many would jump ship to Sprint and how many Sprint users would consider purchasing an iPhone. We will find out soon enough though as the rumored iPhone 5 is said to be announced in September and an announcement would surely ensue.

According to a Japanese Microsoft Developers Forum, Microsoft’s CEO confirmed that the next Windows Phone update, codenamed Mango, will add “over 500 new features” to the mobile operating system.

Microsoft has an event scheduled for Tuesday, May 24th in New York City, during which it will unveil the new update (again) and discuss its features in greater detail. Earlier this month we heard rumors that the update will deliver Bing Audio, Bing Vision, turn-by-turn navigation in Bing Maps, a new native podcast player, speech recognition, and more.

Microsoft first introduced WP7 in February 2010. The platform officially launched worldwide in October 2010. The first crop of devices was very good, but not quite a match for the headlining Android smartphones available from most carriers. It didn’t help that WP7 only launched on AT&T and T-Mobile at first. Sprint didn’t pick up any WP7 handsets until earlier this year, and Verizon is releasing its first WP7 smartphone this week.

Check out the video clip of Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer discussing Mango:

The big question is, can Microsoft successfully deliver this update to existing and future handsets in a timely manner? Experience to-date tells us no.

Sprint as you may already know is openly opposed to AT&T’s proposed $39 billion acquisition of T-Mobile, but the carrier actually stands to benefit from the deal according to Piper Jaffray analyst Christopher Larsen. Larsen recently lifted his rating on Sprint stock from neutral to overweight, while also upping his price target from $5.00 to $6.50.

The analyst sees brighter days ahead for the carrier through the rest of 2011 and 2012 as well, believing that the AT&T and T-Mobile deal could become a good thing for Sprint. Larsen thinks that the merger could cause some subscribers to leave the new mega-carrier and come fleeing to Sprint. Furthermore, AT&T may be required to divest some of its markets for the deal to be approved and Sprint may be able to pick up that business or even some of AT&T’s spectrum assuming it is forced to let some go. Finally, the analyst also believes a post-merger market would be less prone to aggressive price cutting, which would certainly help Sprint maintain a competitive advantage in the wireless industry.

What do you think of the whole ordeal? Do you think the analyst is making accurate assumptions or do you feel his predictions are way off? Share your thoughts and opinions in the section below!

It isn’t exactly a secret that U.S wireless provider Sprint isn’t exactly a fan of the proposed AT&T and T-Mobile merger. Dan Hesse, the company’s CEO has been very straight forward with his concerns, the main concern being that the merge will end up creating a duopoly between AT&T and Verizon Wireless. The carrier is therefore looking for even more anti-merger ammunition. The folks over at Bloomberg are reporting that Sprint representatives have “signed confidentiality agreements in advance of possibly gaining access to filings that won’t be available to the public.”

The merger, if it were to go through, would relegate Sprint to a distant third-place amongst U.S wireless carriers, having just over half as many customers as its next competitor, Verizon Wireless. AT&T is seeking FCC and Department of Justice approval for the blockbuster merger that is expected to be complete within a year.

Which side of the fence are you on? Are you for or against the merger between AT&T and T-Mobile? Let us know in the comments below!

Apple iPhone will be made available on T-Mobile network soon. Folks over at BGR have managed to procure some spy shots confirming iPhone running on T-Mobile US 3G network.

The actual internal model is N94, whereas the CDMA model is N92 and GSM is N90. The iPhone is said to be running a test version of Apple’s iOS, like the one spotted on 64GB White iPhone model video leaked from Vietnamese site. The purported device is running internal Apple test apps like Radar and Apple’s employee directory app.

The proximity sensor has dotted cuts instead of just a black cut in the white front panel of the retailing model of White iPhone 4. For us it looks highly unlikely that the internals on this iPhone model are being disguised in an iPhone 4 shell.

You might be aware that last year, Kaufman Brother’s analyst Shaw Wu, predicted that the device would be made available to T-mobile after analyzing technical feasibility between the device and the carrier network. He added – T-Mobile’s 3G services (UMTS/HSPA) support 1700 MHz and 2100 MHz frequencies while AT&T supports 850 MHz and 1900 MHz frequencies. Interestingly, both the new iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS support 3G at the 2100 MHz frequency and, from our understanding, the technical hurdle to support T-Mobile is minor compared to supporting CDMA technology at Verizon or Sprint.

If the rumors turns out to be legit then the iPhone will be made available across multiple carriers apart from AT&T and Verizon. Ironically, AT&T has already bought T-Mobile from Deutsche Telekom for staggering $39 Billion. If that AT&T acquisition get through all the bureaucratic hurdles, the iPhone will anyway make its way to T-Mobile customers.

T-Mobile has more than 35 million customer base in US. If Apple signs a deal with the carrier the iPhone sales would increase substantially. Seems like soon iPhone would be made available with Sprint too! What do you say? Well, for full screenshots gallery head over to BGR. We will update you when more information about iPhone on T-Mobile comes-in.

Information gathered by the folks over at Android Central is indicating that Google and Sprint will make their Google Voice partnership ready for prime time on April 26th. The venture, which was announced last month, will allow Sprint customers to integrate their current number with the Google Voice service. This means that calls and texts sent from the mobile device will be logged by Google Voice’s online system, and calls can be made from the browser using the service’s VoIP feature.

International calls made from the linked mobile devices will automatically route through Google Voice as well, which offers deep discounting on international voice traffic. The feature has already been available in beta for the past few weeks but it looks like the two companies are finally ready to let everyone in on the fun.

Do you think you will be utilizing the new feature extensively? Let us know your thoughts and comments in the section below!
