With Apple’s media event being right around the corner and the expectancy of a new Apple TV, the next generation iPad, and an unknown accessory – Apple stock jumps to a new high, increasing its total market capitalization to nearly $500 billion. The tech giant crossed the $535 mark in the afternoon which helped push its market cap to more than $498 billion dollars. Apple has released iOS 4.2.2 firmware build 8F305 for Apple TV 2G and it is now available for download. Previous version of Apple TV iOS 4.2.1 was released back in late March with bug fixes, video and audio improvements. This release contains various bug fixes and improvements over the last release.

Apple Releases iOS 4.2.1 (iOS 4.3.1 Build 8F202) For Apple TV 2G; Fixes Flickering Bug
0Apple has released an iOS 4.2.1 (iOS 4.3.1 – build 8F202) update for 2nd-gen Apple TV that brings fix to video flickering issue when the set top box is used on televisions that were attempting to convert the Apple TV’s 720p output to 1080i format. Apple TV Fix Currently In The Works
0The folks over at AppleInsider are reporting that Apple is preparing a small software update for Apple TV that will alleviate screen flickering issues that many users have reported from the 4.2 update (which is actually a build of iOS 4.3).
Apple support has also confirmed that they are “aware of the issues caused by the latest update,” but there is no current timeframe for the update’s release. For those of you who didn’t already know, iOS 4.3 was released today as expected – an early release before the launch of the iPad 2. If you like your jailbreak, we would recommend that you do not update to iOS 4.3 at this time. Don’t forget to tell any noob friends to not accidentally hit the update button either. The Chronic Dev team has just released Greenpois0n RC6.1 for Mac and Windows and is available for download. The latest version addresses the issue with iBooks. In past few days, all greenpois0n Jailbreakers, who attempted to open e-books purchased from the iBook store were prompted with an error message: There is a problem with the configuration of your iPhone. Please restore with iTunes and reinstall iBooks. And, if the device was restored from iTunes, it removed the jailbreak.

The Chronic Dev team has just released Greenpois0n RC6 for Windows and Mac and is available for download. Apart from fixing emulators compatibility issues with greenpois0n, the team has added Untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak support to Apple TV 2G.
Previous versions of GreenPois0n have been untethered on other iOS devices, but this is the first iteration that doesn’t require you to have it connected to computer when you want to restart the device.
