Microsoft Releases Info On Launch Titles For Windows Phone 7 Games

Microsoft recently decided to shed a little light on exactly what the Windows Phone 7 gaming scene would look like during its launch and we must admit, it is looking pretty good. Microsoft listed sixty two different titles that it described as the “first wave” of games coming to its new mobile operating system. Many titles are going to be released including: Asphalt 5, Assassins Creed, Guitar Hero 5, Splinter Cell Conviction, two Star Wars titles, and even some old-fashioned zombie-slaying.

Beginning today (August 1st), Best Buy will mark down the Final Fantasy XIII and Splinter Cell: Conviction special edition Xbox 360 consoles to only $299. PS3 Firmware 3.41 Rumored To Be Causing Hard Drive Upgrade Problems

The PS3 firmware 3.41, which was released recently, seemed to just be a minor update that added a new “You May Like” section to the PlayStation Store but it looks like it’s been causing nothing but trouble for anyone trying to upgrade the hard drive in their console. A strong thread on the official PlayStation forums reveals folks upgrading their hard drive have been getting a “no applicable data” error after trying to install the update, which has left them with a non-working PS3 and in some cases a corrupt original drive. DeadSpace Prequel “Ignition” Coming This Fall

The popular video game Dead Space 2 isn’t due to hit store shelves until early next year but EA has announced that a downloadable prequel will be launching before the end of the year on both Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network. The prequel, dubbed Dead Space Ignition, will over up a very different experience compared to its retail counterpart. EA describes the game as a “comic adventure” that lets players experience the events leading up to Dead Space 2. The OnLive, online gaming service has finally made its official debut. The service has been in beta and available for a select number of users since September 2009, and has now officially begun activating new accounts to the general public. [E3 2010] All About Sony’s Press Conference

3D Gaming Coming Right Away

Sony had their press conference today at E3 2010 and revealed their plans to enable 3D gaming right away. The president of Sony’s Networked Products and Services group, Kaz Hirai, touted the company’s “end-to-end” 3D offerings, from the Bravia 3D TVs Sony released previously to the new roster of 3D enabled games for the Playstation 3. Hirai said games like Super Stardust, pain, and Wipeout, as well as more than 20 additional titles will all on the roster of 3D games released by the end of 2010.
