[How To] Save SHSH Blobs For Apple TV 2G iOS 4.1
Notcom, the dev behind TinyUmbrella has released an updated TinyUmbrella 4.1.5 for Windows, Mac OSX, Mac OSX PPC and Linux. TinyUmbrella 4.1.5 supports iOS 4.1, Apple TV 2G and iPod Touch 4G with iOS 4.1.
TinyUmbrella let you save SHSH blobs (necessary for restoring older firmware) for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. More details on TinyUmbrella can be found here.
Earlier today we posted an article that the iPhone Dev Team managed to Jailbreak Apple TV 2G via SHAtter exploit and pre-jailbroken IPSW from PwnageTool. But how jailbroken Apple TV 2G will benefit the customers? A blogger, by the name of Steven has shared some examples on how Apps can be made to run on Apple TV.
In the mean time it is highly advised to save SHSH Blobs for your new Apple TV before Apple fixes hole, so that you’ll be always able to revert to the stock firmware to jailbreak it.

How to backup SHSH Blobs for Apple TV 2G:
Download and install TinyUmbrella 4.1.5 which now supports Apple TV.
Connect your Apple TV with your computer using micro USB cable. To enter ‘recovery mode’ make sure that neither HDMI nor power cord is connected to the Apple TV.
iTunes will now recognize your Apple TV.
Open TinyUmbrella and select ‘Advanced Options’.
Make sure that ‘Requested Version’ is set to ‘AppleTV 4.1′ and ‘Request From’ to ‘Cydia’.
Enter the ECID for your Apple TV manually. You can find your ECID in the System Profiler (Apple Logo -> About This Mac -> More Info) under the USB tab. Copy your ECID.
Paste your ECID into the empty field.
Select ‘Save My SHSH’. Wait for confirmation message.
That’s it! You have now saved SHSH Blobs of Apple TV 2G running iOS 4.1 on Cydia server which can be used later to restore!
