JailbreakMe 3.0, an untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak for the iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G, and iPad is supposed to be released today (December 30th, 2010). This is going to be an updated version of the previous JailbreakMe which was claimed to be one of the easiest jailbreak methods ever, a quick slide, and you were done. As of right now no news or update has been released by any of the developers and many people are either patiently waiting or eagerly asking for any information. Remember that it will likely be a cydia package so it won’t require a reinstall of your OS (for users who already have jailbroken devices.)

There is already Redsn0w 0.9.7 beta for an untethered jailbreak method for iOS 4.2.1 for the iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G, and iPad, which many iOS 4.x users had previously been waiting for. We previously put up a step-by-step guide you can follow to use that. If you like many others just want an easier method to jailbreak your device, stay tuned for the latest updates on jailbreaking and unlocking your iOS devices by following us on Twitter and/or subscribing to our RSS feed.

UPDATE # 1: JailbreakMe 3.0 is going to be released soon but the December 30th release date was apparently just a rumor, as it is now already January 1, 2011 and there is still no release. The jailbreak is still currently being worked on and will be released as soon as it is read for the public. Please be patient and stay tuned for the latest updates regarding the release of the jailbreak method.
